Garmin Varia Tail Light Battery Life
My only problem with original varia radar is that it has a limited battery life.
Garmin varia tail light battery life. Testing the light network. Changes color based on the battery level pairing status and charging status. Mounted neatly on the seatpost it provides visible and audible alerts for vehicles approaching from behind up to 153 yards 140 meters away. Varia rtl status led led activity status flashing purple the device is in pairing mode.
The varia rtl515 bike radar tail light provides alerts to warn of vehicles approaching from behind as well provide daylight visibility up to 1 mile. I appears that the rtl 510 solves this problem with the 15 hour battery life. As the light goes it s effective in all daylight situations but could be brighter for dusk and sundown riding. Ride smarter and more aware with varia rtl510 rearview radar.
For riders that use a wedge pack or saddle bag look up shapeways 3d printing for a solution to be able to hang your rtl 510 on your saddle bag. Flashing red the battery is low. It s industrial design wasn t great from an aesthetic standpoint and was pretty much derivative of the original backtracker device. Thanks for the review.
Mine works fine with a small under seat bag. The original varia radar may be short on battery life but it did have a built in light and mounted on a seat post with minimal space. Tips for charging the device. The lightless rvr315 offers up to 8 hours of battery life.
Headlight light intensity modes and battery life. Garmin says the battery life is 15 hours on flashing mode but i ve yet to run out entirely as the varia charges very quickly. Plus the bright tail light is visible in daylight from up to a mile away so you can ride with confidence and peace of mind.
